TOTN: Editing & Recording Session 7

Session Review

Editing the soundtrack wth the current clips of dialogue from the previous session is really starting to sound interesting/ (figure a)

However,I still gong to need new dialogue for the shadow character by Tom Baxter and I need t record some lines for the landlord character as well as additional ambient foley noises such as traffic , heavier door knock. Once I returned to the studio I studied lines from the "Sopranos" television show and Soldier 7 another overwatch character in order to improve the dialogue for Mr Donato the landlord.

TOTN: Editing & Recording Session 6

Session Notes

Creating a new adobe audition multi-track and begun to weave my story by adding some of the recorded foley sounds and dialogue in order to create a proxy file in order for me to display to Issaih Ferguson and gain his professional onion before proceeding further. Once I returned t the studio another colleague of mine James Cambell came to record a few lines with Thomas Baxter and myself.

After experimenting with each character voice he eventually recorded an excellent voice for the protagonist Dillon. Dillon's character pauses and mumbles allot in the script and James improvised by making the character speak as if he had a cold with a stuffed nose. Which added allot more context to the characters dialogue and even though it was simple it was a brilliant addition to Dillon since so much was added to the Shadow character for the past weeks.

TOTN: Recording Session 5

Session Notes

Returning to the studio once more with Thomas Baxter and this time more organized than the previous recording session we captured an interesting deep voice for the shadow character and a nervous voice for that of the protagonist Dillon.

Furthermore, towards the end of the session, Tom and I decided to experiment with reverb and the time stretch in adobe audition in order to apply a sense that the shadow could be heard inside Dillon's subconscious.

Interestingly, I discovered a set of effects in Logic Pro X that applied different vocal effects which simply played around with the reverb and pith of the recordings and I liked the tone of voice the "Narrative Vocal" and "Deep Vocal" applied to our voices as displayed in figure a.

TOTN: Recording Session 4

Session Notes

Concerning Isaiah Ferguson's comments on the voice-over quality especially the quality of the landlord and shadow voice I finally found a worthy and willing candidate to voice my landlord a shop owner who sells and buys military and service clothing snd equipment.

He also expressed that my story should be further simplified so my main character Dillon has the final confrontation with his landlord at his own apartment instead of travelling to the landlord's house.

As a result of the shop owner willing to voice the landlord once, I made the vents fo the story less confusing Tom Baxter and Myself will either play the shadow or o Dillon since I was impressed by both our performances in the last recording session and the shop owner if still willing will voice the landlord. Moreover, Returning alone this time to the sound design studio I decided to browse around Lofgic Pro X and refamiliarize myself with the editing tools and where to find them/

Erase - delete a section of track

Scissor - razor tool

z - zooms to default view size
